Laptop Screen Backlights - CCFL Backlight or LED Backlights

Laptop screens use 2 different technologies to light up the screen, CCFL and LED.

CCFL - Cold Cathode Fluorescent Light which uses light tubes to brighten the screen and an inverter that powers it. Sometimes a dark screen is a problem of the back lights and sometimes it is a problem with the inverter on your laptop.

LED - Light Emitting Diodes uses a strip of lights to light up your laptop screen, it does not require an inverter to turn on the screen.

You laptop screen has 1 of 3 backlighting systems in it: 1 CCFL, 2CCFL or LED. You must use the same laptop screen replacement that is in your laptop screen today. You can't use a CCFL laptop screen in a laptop that requires a LED screen and visa versa.
